Plasma Treatments Increase Wetting and Comfort of Gas Perm Contact Lenses:

----PlasmaOptics is an FDA approved electrochemical treatment in which the water-loving portion of the contact lens plastic are made highly active at the surface.

----The enhanced wettability and comfort lasts up to a year or more when the lenses are properly handled and cleaned with a NON-ABRASIVE cleaner.  Using abrasive (milky-colored) lens cleaners or polishing pads can wear down the surface effect.  The lens would then have to be re-treated.
