Our dedicated staff works together as a team to provide high-quality comprehensive eye care. Our compassionate and understanding doctors take pride in paying close attention to each patient's needs. We at the Rubin Eye Center are in our 30th year of practice in Gladstone, Missouri and the Northland. Dr. Rubin is the only doctor in the North Kansas City to have completed a residency certification program at the Veterans Medical Center in Kansas City and complete an externship with the US Department of Health. Our office is also proud to have the most up-to-date diagnostic instrumentation in the area. We also have our own lab for providing same day service on most prescriptions and servicing those emergency situations.

We are also proud to be able to offer Wellness Retinal Photography to our patients. Our Carl Zeiss Fundus Camera is just one of the many instruments that seperates our office from all the commercial and dimestore vision centers in the Northland. Please ask about our wellness retinal photo offers when you come in for your exam. Many insurance plans and VSP offer a substantial discounted rate for these photos that allow the doctor to detect glaucoma, hypertension, vasuclar diseases, nutritional disorders, macular degeneration, diabetes, and many other systemic and ocular diseases. As of August of 2011, the Rubin Eye Center is one of the very few offices in the North Kansas City area to now have an Ocular Coherence Tomographer (SD-OCT.) This OCT is able to provide a layer-by-layer analysis of the retina with a resolution highly superior to fundus ophthalmoscopy and/or even fundus photography. This instrument is also referred to in literature as "optical non-invasive biopsy method" of examining the front and back of the eye. The OCT is the single most important diagnostic and prognostic indicator for determining macular edema in patients with diabetes. These instruments are NOT found in Mall or Strip Mall type optical shoppes. Therefore, be sure to select an office that provides superior retinal digital imaging and OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography) imaging for providing an accurate diagnosis of your eyes.

The Rubin Eye Center is located just off Antioch Road and 60th Street just 3 buildings behind the Burger King and directly across the street from The Woodbine Retirement facility. We can also be found east of Zona Rosa and south of 152 highway off the Antioch Road exit (US 1). Our extended hours are 9AM to 5PM Mon. - Fri., and 9AM to 3 PM Sat. morning. Based on availability, we will accept same-day appointments. The Rubin Eye Center accepts most major insurance plans.
